HPLC Column, Hyper Similars C8 Octyl, 5um, 4.6mm ID x 50mm Length, 150A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.

Additional Information:

Hyper Similars C8™ Octyl is a traditional reversed-phase HPLC stationary phase manufactured on high-purity Type-B spherical silica with a fully endcapped octyl (C8) bonded phase. Designed as a cost-effective alternative to legacy Hypersil® and Spherisorb® columns, it offers comparable chromatographic behavior for USP L7 methods while providing the moderate hydrophobic retention and reproducibility expected from a conventional C8 stationary phase. Compared to C18 columns, C8 phases generally provide reduced retention and faster elution of hydrophobic analytes.

62508-05P is a 50 mm x 4.6 mm ID analytical column packed with 5 µm, 150Å Hyper Similars C8 particles. The short 50 mm length is optimized for rapid analyses, reduced solvent consumption, and high-throughput workflows. The 5 µm particle size provides reliable performance with lower operating pressure than smaller particle alternatives, making it well suited for routine use on conventional HPLC systems. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 1.0–2.0 mL/min.

This USP L7 column is ideal for hydrophobic and neutral compounds when less retention is desired than a comparable C18 phase. Common applications include pharmaceutical analysis, long-chain fatty acid separations, quality control testing, and fast analytical methods requiring traditional C8 selectivity.
